The first solo album by the legendary voice of Supertramp, Roger Hodgson. Roger not only sings on this album, but plays almost every instrument as well! Released in 1984.
Roger has personally signed each album. This album is part of the remastered series from Universal Music. The result is a warmer, more "vinyl like" sound quality over the original CD issues.

I bought this cd at Christmas and it is the only cd I play in my car.
'Give me life' encourages me every day to continue to make the changes in my life this year -couldn't have asked for a better song from Roger.

I'm sitting here and just finished listening to this beautiful work of musicianship and art, this set of songs is simply spectacular and the album as a whole magnificent and one to play time again and again. THUMBS UP!

After Breakfast in America, which was probably the top of Supertramp as a group, I think Roger's best songs are in this album. "In the eye of the storm" is a perfect mix of the sound that made Supertramp one of the top groups thirty years ago.
Roger's voice is perfect and it's a mix of different song types. I personally like all of them and it's really a pleasure to be able to hear them live.
Last years Roger's world tours are like going back to Supertramp years. You just close the eyes and you hear the sound and voice that was the soul of the band.

Roger began his solo life with this album. Seven magnificent songs, with an unusual sound diversity. After 14 years of supertramp, I can feel that Roger need to start a path of its own, and there's nothing better than playing almost all the instruments on all tracks to highlight this demand, but also proved once again his extraordinary abilities as a musician. This álbum remains a current work, suggesting once again what we can easily find in music by Roger, the timelessness and the pleasure of listening his music. A joy and a blessing.

What a great compilation of songs! Some of my favorite songs are on this CD. "Lovers In The Wind", "In Jeopardy", and "Only Because of You" are all in my top 25 playlist. I can't hear them enough. Roger is so often referred to as the creative genius of Supertramp, and I agree. However, I would venture to say that anyone listening to "In The Eye Of The Storm" or another one of my favorite CDs, "Open The Door", would agree that the qualifier in the sentence "of Supertramp" should be eliminated. Roger IS Creative Genius. I've seen him several times in concert. And, while I love hearing the great Supertramp classics, I would love to see him do a concert comprised solely of his own work. Man, how great would that show be?

Simply put, Roger was the heart, soul, sound and creative force of Supertramp...it's so evident here on his solo debut when you listen to Had a Dream, his signature keyboard and melodic sound shines through and jumps out at you, this guy IS Supertramp. This is music of the highest caliber and still sounds ahead of its time. I love that Roger still plays In Jeopardy, Only Because of You and Lovers in the Wind in his concerts, he really brings out the magic and essence of his songs with such strong feeling live.

Most of the best surprises received!
He adored the music of Supertramp, good, better, loved the songs composed by Roger Hodgson during his stay in the band, for me, it was very, very clear, Roger was the essence and soul of that band.
When the band broke up, I still had 15; a teenager, and when I needed to have my hand this musical reference, I felt very sad, thought I would not hear my buddy back to my training as a person.
What was my surprise when the following year, in 1984 Roger Hodgson appeared again, this time alone, a luxury for me; presenting this musical gem, with beautiful songs, and where the best of Roger showed his great talent.
The strength and power "Had a Dream", harmonious "In Jeopardy", the great romantic beauty of "Lovers in the Wind" and the melodic and deep "Only Because of You" some from the titles of this great album.
And after the great renaissance, so many great and happy surprises that came in my life, always accompanied by the music of Roger Hodgson.
I best of all, to enjoy its stunning live concerts today, a treat for lovers of good music.
The best company and the better inspiration for a positive life. Roger Hodgson.

‘In The Eye Of The Storm’, is the first solo album of Roger Hodgson, and he really started well this new phase! For those who enjoyed his songs at the time of Supertramp, clearly realizes that Roger continued his characteristic style: beautiful melodies, exciting rocks, intelligent and emotional lyrics, and his trademark: his amazing and powerful voice!
It is difficult to point favorite on this album, there are 7 long songs inter-connected, in a way, starting with the ultra-classic 'Had A Dream', following the hit 'In Jeopardy' and ending this fantastic album with the beautiful and unforgettable 'Only Because Of You '.
By the way, Roger continues touring worldwide with an incredible band, and performing many of the songs of this fantastic album; and it's amazing perfection of these songs when performed live.
